Marlene A. Lane

Schenectady- Marlene A. Lane, 82, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016 with her family by her side. She was the daughter of the late John and Celia (Matteo) Sammo. She was the loving wife to the late Frederick G. Lane Jr.

Marlene is survived by her loving children Teresa (Jim) Rossetti and Michelle (John) Avery; her grandchildren Dina (Sean) Solomon, Dr. James Rossetti, Michael (Kristy) Avery, Christie Andi, Craig and Brian Avery. She lived life for her great-grandchildren Isabelle, Mary Claire, Adrianna and Elena Rossetti, Justin Michael Giorgio, Natalie and Juliana Andi, Lucas and Aiden Avery. Marlene is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews and many dear friends from Baptist Nursing Home.

Marlene is also predeceased by her brothers John (Theresa) and Louis (Joyce) Sammo, her nephew; Dr. John P. Sammo and her beloved cousins Robert (Janice) Matteo and June (Giari) Pedone.

The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses, aides and any other hospital staff who have made a difference in Marlene's life. We thank you for all your care during her final days. Prior to her death Marlene was adamant about wanting no flowers. In lieu, she prefers donations to be made to the foundations for breast cancer, liver or kidney diseases.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Madeleine Sophie, 3500 Carman Road, Schenectady 12303 on Monday, March 28, 2016 at 10:00am. Interment will follow mass at St. Cyril & Method Cemetery, Rotterdam.
