COLONIE – Marlene L. Connell, 81, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2013, surrounded by his loving family at her daughter's home in Clifton Park.

Marlene was born on April 8, 1932, in Chatham Center and was the daughter of the late Myrtle Roberts. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 60 years, Raymond W. Connell. Marlene was raised by her aunt and uncle, Mildred and Howard Hagen who predeceased her.

She enjoyed sewing, loved her flower garden and playing bingo, but most of all loved spending time with her family – especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Marlene is survived by her loving children, Kathy Audi (Joe), Peter Connell (Diane), Paul Connell (Ann), Patrick Connell (Kathy), Philip Connell (Donna), and Karen Van Cleef (Andy); her cousins who were like her sisters, Lois Pfeiffer and Elinor Zampella; 16 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Clare's Church in Colonie on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. Interment will be private at St. Mary's Cemetery in Nassau.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the charity of your choice.
