Marquan William Mackey-Meggs

COHOES- Marquan William Mackey-Meggs was born August 27, 1994 and was called home on January 21, 2019.

He was predeceased by his mother Marjorie and is survived by his wife, Danielle; his son Marcel; his siblings, Noelle, Malcolm, Sierra, Omari, and Faquan; his niece, Malina; his nephews, Jayceon, Aleem, A'mari, and Aasir; his father, Floyd; his mother-in-law, Stacy; his aunt, Lisa; uncle, Lester (Pat); as well as his cousins, Maria, Stan, and Mark.

Marquan spent his early years growing up in Schenectady attending various schools in the district. During these years he made many lasting friendships but one in particular stood out and would last until the end which was with Jacob who became more like a brother to him over the years. Later in life he relocated to Cohoes with his dad and that's where he completed his schooling. During that time is when he met his wife of 10 years and into their love they welcomed their son Marcel into this world.

Marquan was a dedicated family man, a fantastic father, a devoted husband, and a beloved brother, son, and friend who will be truly missed. Marquan touched many people's hearts during his short time here on Earth and his memory will forever live on through us all. Marquan wouldn't want us to mourn today, tomorrow, or ever but to celebrate every day in his favor as we remember the good times.

Calling hours will be held from 10am to 12pm on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, NY 12189. A funeral service will follow at 12pm at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Memory Gardens.
