GLENMONT - Marta J. (Goldberg) Plass, 62, of Glenmont, passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2021.
Born in Albany on June 23, 1958 to the late Harry and Lois (Blanchard) Goldberg. Marta was the devoted and loving wife to the late Albert F. Plass. They were married 35 years. Loving mother of Julia Baskerville (Robert Baskerville) of Albany, Daphne Plass Jenkins of Glenmont and the late Adam Plass. Cherished grandmother of Corey Chiaro, Allie Baskerville, Kenyon Baskerville and Harrison Adam Jenkins. Dearest sister of Laura Kurowski, Gary Goldberg, Jeff Goldberg, Alan Goldberg, and Daniel Goldberg.
Marta was an Albany High School graduate - Class of 1976. She received her associates degree from Schenectady County Community College. On August 21, 1982 she married the love of her life, Albert. Marta was a special ed pre-school teacher at Kenwood Child Development Center for many years. She then went to work as a pre-school teacher at the Albany Jewish Community Center for several years. Marta's family was her life and she will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
The funeral service will commence at 12 noon on Monday, March 22, 2021 from New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Interment will follow the service in Memory Gardens in Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the funeral home. The service will also be available via YouTube: https://youtu.be/QkhODKglDjo. Gathering size within our chapels will be based on the most current NYS occupancy requirements. Masks are required and social distancing is to be observed inside and outside of our chapels.
