Martha "Marty" Liscum, 85, wife of Douglas Liscum in Glenmont, NY passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 22, 2023 after a long battle with dementia.
She was born October 25, 1937 in Gouverneur, NY, to the late Kenneth and Mildred (Santay) Slate.
Martha worked many years as a nurses aide/home health aide for various medical facilities. In her spare time, she was a talented seamstress, crafter, and quilter.
Besides her husband Douglas, she is survived by her daughters: Cheryl Martinez of Colonie, NY and Leeanne Shade (Armond Palleschi) of Glenmont, NY; along with seven grandchildren: Justin, Patrick (Jen), Christopher, and Wayne (Cheryl's children) and Dominique, Mikayla, and Arthur III "Tres" (Leeanne's children). She is also survived by several sister and brother in laws, along with numerous niece and nephews.
She was predeceased by her two brothers, Kenneth and Ronald Slate and her sister, Delores Jones.
A cremation is planned with no formal services.
