Martha Soloyna

Martha May Soloyna, 76, of Colonie, entered into eternal life in the caring comfort of her loving family Friday December 22, 2006 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Albany, she as the daughter of the late Alexander and Bridget Perrier Rogers. Martha was employed by New York State Dept. of Education where she worked as a senior computer programmer. She was a communicant of St. Clare's Church. Martha enjoyed camping with her family, trips to the casinos, and entertaining locally in the Band Family affair.
She is the beloved mother of George M. Soloyna and his wife Lisa of Cohoes, Mark Soloyna of Colonie, Deborah Wasserbach of Rensselaer, Kim Edick of Altamont and Michele Zinoman and her husband Ron of Pittstown. She is the cherished grandmother of Jessica (Jeff) Katz, Sarah, Mark and Connie Solyna, Richard and Stephen Soloyna; Kera and Laura Wasserbach, Michele Weaver, Nicole and Collin Edick, Elana and Hannah Zinoman and 2 great grandchildren. She is the sister of Theresa O'Connor of Albany, Bucky Rogers of Colonie, Robert Rogers and the late Clifford, Al, Gilbert, Francis, Wilmer, Margaret, Mary, Charles, William and Richard.
Sister in law of Beverly Rogers of Castleton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be Thursday morning at 8:30 at NewComer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave) then to St. Clare's Church at 9:00 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Rd. Albany NY 12205 in memory of Martha M. Soloyna.
