Mechanicville – Martin A. Czwakiel, 70, passed away Saturday February 5, 2011 after a brief illness.
Martin was born in Albany a son of the late Martin and Clara Czwakiel and was a lifelong area resident. He was a PGA Golf Pro in Dorsett, VT and at Normanside Country Club and the assistant pro at Wolfert's Roost Country Club. Later he worked for the Legislative Index Company of Albany. In addition to golf, he loved trout fishing in the Ausable River.
He is survived by his children: Michael (Lynn Norkun), Michele (Mark Longo) and Mark Czwakiel, grandchildren Nicole Czwakiel and Mark Czwakiel, Jr., siblings Barbara, Ronald (Linda) and Thomas Czwakiel, several nieces, nephews and cousins and his canine companion "Bud".
A special thanks to the Malta EMT's, Ellis Hospital C-6, Great Barrington Nursing and Rehab Center and Fair View Hospital.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday 1:30pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 11:30am to 1:30pm at the funeral home.
