Colonie - Martin "Marty" J. LaHait, 58, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 24, 2018 with his loving family by his side. Marty was the devoted husband of 19 years to Deborah LaHait. He was the son of Natalie and the late Charles LaHait Jr..
Marty was a kind and generous soul. He was a devoted family man, giving most of his love and time to his grandchildren and close family. Marty was the executive vice president for the local 660 CSEA and the health and safety chairman, and was a very active member of the Albany Elks Lodge #49. He loved the outdoors, and looked forward to camping with his family and friends with a crisp brew in hand by a fire. You can often find Marty with a big bag of peanuts in his hands feeding the local squirrels. He was an excellent cook, and enjoyed watching people enjoy his food. Marty was quick witted with jokes and pranks, but just as quick with lending a helping hand or encouraging words.
Along with his beloved bride Debbie, Marty will be forever missed by his children, Bob (Jessica) LaHait, Josh (Theresa) Shadick, and Nicholas (Kristen) Shadick, grandchildren, Evan, and Cody LaHait, Alize, Josh, Maya, Ellie, Alyssa, Savannah, Jayden, Gage, Connor, and Ryley Shadick, mother, Natalie LaHait, brother, Jeff (Mary) LaHait, sister in law, Donna Dupuis, mother in law, Peg Warren, along with many nieces, nephews, family and friends
