Martin Szinger (54), of Westerlo, NY, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2024 of a sudden and unexpected heart attack.
Martin attended Kenmore East High School where his passion for gaming began. He went on to attend the University at Buffalo, NY, where he received a Master’s Degree in Software Engineering. Martin worked as a computer programmer by profession and loved his work in the video game industry.
He was also an accomplished musician and songwriter who played the guitar, saxophone and most recently a proud member of the East Berne Band.
So many of the connections he made were through the things he loved most; hiking, camping, beekeeping, building, traveling, and, most of all, being a dad. Martin had a special relationship with his children and his world revolved around them.
His loving spirit is carried on by his wife Kathleen; his children Charles, Matthew, Abigail and Eleanor; parents Frank and Eva Szinger; brothers James
(Una) Szinger and John (Jeannie) Szinger.
A Memorial visitation will be held Friday, August 9, 2024 from 10 am - 1 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet, NY. To share a memory for Martin or leave a special message for his family, please visit the guestbook below.
