GUILDERLAND-Mary S. Alheim, 84, passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2018 surrounded by the love of her family.
Mary was born in Schodack, NY on May 14, 1933 to the late William and Mary Sultan. In 1957 Mary married the love of her life, Edward F. Alheim. They were married for 61 years. Together they raised one son, Robert E. Alheim. Mary worked for AT&T for over 35 years, and after her retirement she went on to work part-time at Price Chopper. She worked there for over 25 years retiring only a few years ago. Mary and Edward were parishioners of Christ the King Church, in Guilderland, NY since 1962.
Mary is predeceased by her siblings, Ann Strevell, Frank Sultan, Peter Sultan, Steve Sultan, Olga Genego, and Sally Macek.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Edward, her son, Robert, her sister, Sylvia Jacobson, her neice and nephew, Barbara Genego, and John Genego, and a host of family and friends.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Creations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205, on Wednesday, March 7, 2018, from 10:00am-11:00am with a service to immediately follow. Burial will be held at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, Rensselaer, NY.
