COLONIE – Mary Ann Riley Murray, 71 of Colonie, passed away peacefully on Friday June 21, 2013 at the Inn of Community Hospice at St. Peters Hospital.
She was born in Albany and is the daughter of Charles Riley and the late Dorothy Bromley Riley. Mary Ann attended Vincentian Institute and graduated from Colonie High School in 1960. She had worked for thirty years at the South Colonie School District. For twenty years, Mary Ann loved her annual trip to Cape May with the "Cape May Girls". She was a longtime member of the Shaker Ridge Country Club. Mary Ann was a woman of grace, style and class. She was loved by many people and touched many lives. She will be dearly missed by her loving family.
Mary Ann is survived by her beloved husband of fifty years, Craig J. Murray; her son Kevin (Heather) Murray; her daughters, Kelly (Dick) Holmes and Karen (Chet) Oliver. She is the cherished grandmother of Brian, Kyle, Candice, Brendan, Amber, Taylor, Stone, A.J., Sage and Tessla. She is the sister of Maureen (Ed) Green and Patti (Jack) Mallinson. She is also survived by many loving brother and sister in laws, nieces and nephews.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday afternoon at 1:00 at Christ Our Light Catholic Church, 1 Maria Drive, Loudonville. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 10 am to 1 pm at Christ Our Light Catholic Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Rd. Albany, NY 12205 in memory of Mary Ann Murray.
