Albany – Mary A. Rutzky, 88, died Thursday, June 14, 2012, at home surrounded by her loving family.
Mary was born in Narrowsburg, New York, the daughter of Charles and Vivian (Sullivan) Carey. After graduating from high school Mary worked for the New York Telephone Company in Monticello, New York where she met the love of her life Victor Rutzky. Mary was a parishioner at St. Pius X Church where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and served as Grand Regent. She was a volunteer at Memorial Hospital and a foster parent with her husband through Community Maternity Service. Mary was an avid sports fan; her favorite teams were the Siena Saints and the Yankees.
She is survived by her daughters Marianne (Alan) Williams, Peggy (Gene) Stryjek and Rosanne (Tom) McKee, her grandchildren Morgan, Allison, John, James, Michael, Conor, Sean and Gillian, and her great-grandchildren Peyton, Collin, and Dawson, several nieces and nephews and her special friend Dorothy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 am at St. Pius X Church, Loudonville. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Albany. Interment will be at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
