HALFMOON – Mary B. Bielkiewicz, 86, passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2005 at Saratoga Hospital.
Mary was born on December 28, 1918 in Albany and was the daughter of the late Louis and Virginia Pompi Morgia.
Mary worked as a key punch operator for NYS Department of Tax and Finance for 10 years before retiring in 1981. Prior to that she worked as a nurse's aide at Albany Memorial Hospital. Mary was a member of the Sacred Heart of Mary Church in Watervliet and a former member of the Church of St. Mary's/St. Paul's in Hudson Falls. She was also a member of the Hudson Shores Plaza Association where she enjoyed servicing mass for many years on Wednesday. She enjoyed painting, piano, poetry and crossword puzzles.
Mary is survived by her sons, Joseph (Lou) Santa Lucia of Troy, Robert (Mary) Santa Lucia of Latham, Dennis (Ernestine) Santa Lucia of Menands and George Bielkiewicz of Clifton Park; her sister, Anna Marlette; her 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mary was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Bielkiewicz, her son, Gregory Bielkiewicz, her sister, Angie Massara and her brother, Anthony Morgia.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home 343 New Karner Road, Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m Saturday at The Church of St. Mary's/St. Paul's on the park, 11 Wall Street, Hudson Falls, NY. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Hudson Falls.
