ALTAMONT---- Mary E. Barrett, age 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at St. Peter's Hospital on March 2, 2022.
She was born in Schenectady, the daughter of the late Edward and Florence Young.
Mary was a graduate of Nott Terrace High School and worked briefly at GE Credit. She then married and settled in Altamont. She worked as a Teacher's Aide at Altamont Elementary School. Later in life, she worked as a Fingerprint Identification Clerk for NYS Dept. of Criminal Justice, retiring at age 76.
Throughout Mary's life, she enjoyed nature, her garden, bird watching, sports and time spent with her family.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be greatly missed.
Mary is survived by her daughters: Christina (David) Tymchyn and Andrea (Kevin) Crawford; grandchildren: David Tymchyn Jr. (Kelsey), Ryan Tymchyn (Kacey), Matthew Tymchyn, Austen Crawford and Mary Crawford; great grandchildren: Wyatt, Ayden, Josie, Kennedy and Corrine Tymchyn. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
