SCHENECTADY – Mary Capobianco, 88, passed away at the home of her granddaughter in Niskayuna on Saturday, July 26, 2014, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in San Biagio, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Dominic and Josephine (Tessio) Pannone and was the beloved wife of 65 years to the late Sabatino Capobianco. She lived in Schenectady most of her life. She was a cook for Glendale Nursing Home in Glenville for 20 years, before retiring. She enjoyed traveling and watching movies.
Mary is the devoted mother of Peter (Deborah) Capobianco, Cynthia (the late Alan) DiThomas and Ann Marie Capobianco. She is the cherished grandmother of Alana (Douglas) Koch, Alan DiThomas, Peter Capobianco Jr., and Leah (Fabian) Johnston and cherished great grandmother of Mary Olivia and Douglas Alan Koch and Aiden Trip Johnston. She is the loving sister of Clara Gwords.
Mary was also predeceased by husband, Sabatino Capobianco; her brothers, Billy Pannone and Pasquale Pannone; and her sister, Theresa Cafferillo.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon then to St. Luke's Church, Schenectady where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Glenville.
