Colonie - Mary T. Costello, 94, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2018 with her loving family by her side. Mary was the daughter of the late Dennis and Teresa (Hourigan) Costello.
Mary grew up in Eagle Mills before moving to Knauf Lane in Colonie. Mary graduated from Catholic Central High School in Troy, NY, class of 1941 and went on to graduate from Troy Business College. She was employed as a Supervisor by NYS Department of Tax and Finance, Income Tax Bureau. Among her many interests, Mary enjoyed playing golf at the Van Schaick Island Country Club.
Mary is survived by her nieces, Terry McKeon, Patricia (Peter) Garabedian, Nancy (Richard, deceased) Ficili, Sharon (Peter) Aleksa; nephews, James (Karen) Costello, and Robert (Val) Costello; and several great and grand nieces and nephews.
Mary was predeceased by her siblings, Rita (Harold) Duffey and James (Ann) Costello, and her nephews, Leo Duffey and John Costello.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of A2 and E1 at The Home of the Good Shepherd, Saratoga Springs, and Community Hospice, Saratoga for their love and care.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 23 Crumitie Rd., Albany at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Troy.
Donations may be made in Mary's memory to the American Heart Association, PO Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220 or Community Hospice, 445 New Karner Rd, Albany, NY 12205 .
