Rotterdam- Mary A. DiClemente, 96, passed peacefully to the loving arms of our Lord, on Sunday, January 30, 2022. Born in Syracuse, Mary was the daughter of the late Marco and Dora Gabriele. Widowed by first husband Sabatino DeCesare, Mary was predeceased by her late husband Anthony DiClemente.
Mary loved music from an very early age and cherished wonderfully warm memories that recounted singing with her beloved sisters. Mary was a proud and long-standing member of the Mount Carmel Choir. Mary loved dancing as well and could "shuffle off to Buffalo" but really loved to jitterbug.
Mary valued perseverance and integrity which was evident by the longevity of Hollywood Cleaners, the successful dry-cleaning business that Mary co-owned with her sisters.
Mary also encouraged her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews to follow their dreams and achieve their potential. She proudly attended every award ceremony, concert, recital, baseball game, football game, and graduation.
Mary is survived by her children, Denise Smith (Doug), Dean J. DeCesare and step son, James DiClemente. She was the loving "Mom-Mom" to Kerrianne (Corey), Douglas (Melissa) and Sabatino (Lolymar). She will also be missed by her great grandchildren, Lakota, Skye, Rayne, Raevynne, Madison, Ava, Myles, Sabatino and Mateo as well as several nieces and nephews.
Mary is predeceased by her son Sab DeCesare and all of her siblings, Carmella Squires, DeeDee Mattice, Leon Gabriele and Delores Mattice.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Mary's name.
