Colonie - Mary M. Duke, 85, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2024. She was born on November 23, 1938 in Albany, NY, daughter of the late Joseph and Rose Oliver. Mary was married to her high school sweetheart, the late James Duke.
Mary worked as a secretary at Albany Public Market and a clerk for the NY Dept of State before retiring in 2000.
In her spare time Mary loved to crochet, sew, line dance, golf and travel. She loved spending time with her family.
Mary is survived by her 3 children, Jim (Stacie) Duke, Lori (Craig) Peterson, and Joe (Heather) Duke; 7 grandchildren, Jimmy, Ryan, CJ, Chelsie, Cameron, Jesse, and Josh; 7 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth DuLong and Roberta Duke; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mary was predeceased by her brother, Frank Oliver; brother-in-law, Paul Duke; and longtime partner, William Clifford.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet, New York on Sunday, January 21, 2024 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held Monday January 22, 2024 at 12:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie, NY.
