Mary E. Gurren

Schenectady- Mary E. Gurren, 56, passed away at her home on February 20, 2017. Born in Albany, NY on November 13, 1960, she was the daughter of the late Walter J. and Eleanor A. (Breen) Gurren, Sr. She was employed for G-Tech and was a salesperson, selling New York Lottery Instant Tickets.
She is survived by her sister Margaret Backstrom; her brother Walter J. Gurren, Jr. and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her sister Anne Grant and her brother John J. Gurren, Sr.
Visitation will be from 4 pm to 7 pm on Thursday, February 23 at New Comer Funeral & Cremations, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A graveside service will be held at 10 am on Friday, February 24, 2017 at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mary's name to the Animal Protective Foundation, 53 Maple Ave, Schenectady, NY 12302.
