COLONIE – Mary Ann Hazen, 90, passed away Friday January 6, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Brooklyn on May 25, 1932 a daughter to the late Chester and Sophie (Rybicki) Joswick.
She worked for many years for her family's business, Ray Sign Inc. in Schenectady.
Mary Ann was predeceased by her husband, Russell and siblings, Chester "Sonny" Joswick and Catherine Steinbuch.
She is survived by her children Irene (James) Otto, Russell (Patricia) Hazen and Joseph (Marlyn) Hazen; her grandchildren, James and Sarah Otto, Alicia Hazen, Russell Hazen, Michael (Janelle) Hazen, Elizabeth Hazen and Danielle Hazen (Tyler Langlais) and Amy (Zach) Betkowski; her great grandchildren Ali, Noelle and Hanna; and her brother, Phillip Joswick and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held from 5 to 7pm on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Friday, January 13, 2023 at the Church of St. Clare, 1947 Central Avenue, Colonie. Interment will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the The Community Hospice Foundation, 310 S. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208 or to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959 in in Mary Ann's memory.
