Mary Jane Hooten, 58 of Troy passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at Samaritan Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
A lifelong resident of Troy, she was a daughter Robert and Mary-Lou (Myers) Hooten. Mary Jane attended Troy schools and was a graduate of Troy High School Class of 1981.
Mary Jane worked at Van Rensselaer Manor then she was employed at Tek Hughes, Inc. for several years.
She was a loving and devoted sister and aunt who always had time for her family. Mary Jane was a dedicated friend to all her knew her. She was also a person who enjoyed her quiet time.
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, puzzles and arts.
She was predeceased by her parents and 2 brothers, James and Jerome.
She is lovingly remembered by 2 sisters, Ida M. (Meshach) Gibson-Canty and Pauline Hooten; 4 brothers, Robert (Colleen) Hooten, Victor (Alma) Hooten, Melvin Hooten, and Roger Myers. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 6, 2020 from 11am to 12:00 pm with a celebration of life to immediately follow at 12:00 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet. A graveside service will follow at Graceland Cemetery, 680 Delaware Avenue, Albany.
