COLONIE – Mary J. Morrison, 94, of Colonie, passed away at her home on Sunday, June 10, 2007. She was born in Bolton, England and was the daughter of the late William T. and Marjorie Stewart Ashcroft. She came to Canada when she was eight years old and was raised in Hamilton, Ontario.
Mrs. Morrison was a Colonie resident for over 60 years. She was the bookkeeper for her husband's business the James Morrison Carpentry from 1953 until present. He predeceased her on February 1, 2003. She was a communicant and former member of the Altar Rosary Society of St. Clare's Church, and a longtime former member of Pine Haven Country Club. She was an avid River Rats Hockey fan and an avid golfer.
Mary is the devoted mother of Shirley O'Donnell and her husband Pete of Kinderhook, Jim Morrison and his wife Bertie, Sue Scicchitano, and Tom Morrison and his wife Sheryl, all of Colonie and the late Mary Jane Sutter. She is the sister of Betty Wilson of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada and the late William and Joseph Ashcroft, Ann Warburton and Marjorie King. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday morning at 8:15 a.m. at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) then to the Church of St. Clare at 9:00 where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. the funeral home. Entombment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
