Mary Jane Stokes

MENANDS - Mary Jane Stokes passed on Sunday, January 29, 2012 at Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center.
Born in 1928 to Henry and Jane Launsbach, she moved with her loving husband Leonard to Latham in 1949. A loving mother devoted to her four children Leonard, Bruce, Dawn, and Faith, she supported their many activities including little league, cub scouts, brownies, and dancing. She was a long time Sunday School teacher at St. Matthew's Church, Latham. She also operated a nursery school there. She worked for NYS Department of Labor and retired from the Department of State. With her husband they moved to the Massry Assisted Living Center in 2005. After Leonard passed, she was provided loving care that helped her maintain a high quality of life over the past few years. She and her family thank everyone for being there for her. She is survived by three children, six grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
A private service will be held for the family before her final resting at Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Daughters of Sarah Foundation, 180 Washington Ave. Ext., Albany, NY 12203 or to St. Peter's Hospice, 319 South Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208.
