Mary L. Kalas

Albany- Mary L. Kalas, 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 with her loving family by her side. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Grace Dugger. Mary was the loving wife to John W. Kalas. They were married 49 years.
Mary was a Professor of English who was a Charlotte Bronte scholar for many years and later a school administrator.
Mary was a proud member of Trinity United Methodist Church having served on several committees.
In addition to her husband, Mary is survived by her children, Heather L. Miles and Robert W. Michael Miles; step-children, Andrea M. Kalas, Gregor A. Kalas, Justine L. Kalas-Reeves and Rayna M. Kalas; four grandchildren; and many loved ones.
In addition to her parents, Mary is predeceased by her son, James Ashley Martin Miles.
A memorial service will take place at 10:30am on Wednesday May 19, 2021 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 235 Lark St, Albany, NY 12210.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mary's name to Trinity United Methodist Church.
