Mary L. Keith

Mary Louise Keith was born on September 6, 1937 in Newtonhook, New York. She was the second of thirteen children born to her deceased parents, John and Lucy Hughes. In 1958, she was united in holy matrimony to her late husband, Willie Lee Keith, Sr. They had seven children: Willie Lee Keith Jr., Alan Keith, Lenora Keith, Lorraine Morales, Lanita Keith, Latrice Keith, and Vaughn Keith. She received her formal education in the Hudson City School District and graduated from Hudson High School. She held a number of jobs, but her primary role was that of wife, mother, and homemaker. At an early age, she joined Shiloh Baptist Church in Hudson, New York, where she remained a faithful member of the Food Service Committee, the Allen Echos Choir, and various other committees. She was a devoted and loving person who touched the lives of many people. She leaves to mourn her seven children, one step-son (Delendo Keith - Watervliet, New York); one sister (Lucy Spann - Hudson, New York); five brothers (James Hughes - East Greenbush, New York, Howard Hughes - Albany, New York, Harry Hughes - Iowa, Lenny Hughes - Hudson, New York, and Lyle Hughes - Florida); 29 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, one goddaughter (Yolonda Dixon - Albany, New York), two loving cousins (Annabelle Newsome and Jack Coleman of Albany, New York), a very special and loving friend (Ms. Bettye J. Williams of Montgomery, Alabama), and a host of relatives and friends. She passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 in hospice at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, New York.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY on Thursday, November 5, 2020 from 9:00 am to 10:30 am. A Funeral Service will be private for the family only. Burial will follow the service at Cedar Park Cemetery.

Gathering size, within our chapels will be based on the most current NYS occupancy requirements.
Masks are required, and social distancing is to be observed inside and outside of our chapels.
