COLONIE- Mary M. Kohler, 89, of Colonie, passed away on Tuesday December 20, 2005 at Albany Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. She was born in Watervliet and was the daughter of the late John and Philomena Carofano. Mary was predeceased in 1967 by her beloved husband, Raymond H. Kohler.
She had worked as a receptionist for Dr. Setner in Albany for several years before joining Blue Cross/Blue Shield in Albany as a claims representative, retiring at the age of 75. Mary was a former member of the Home Bureau in Glens Falls. She was a volunteer reading aide at Forest Park Elementary School. For many years, Mary knitted hats for newborn infants and for underprivileged children. She was very dedicated to her loving family and helping anyone in need.
Mary is the beloved mother of Cheryl Kohler Loftfield of Averill Park. She is the cherished grandmother of Rok B., Roy V. Ros K and Raymond S. Loftfield. She is the sister of the late Clement, Dominic, Beatrice, Ann and John Carofano. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Friday morning at 9:00 at the Church of St. Clare in Colonie. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7 pm at NewComer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will be in Memorys Garden. Memorial contributions may be made to New York Special Olympics, 504 Balltown Rd. Schenectady, NY 12304-2290
