Mary Lois Newsom

Mary Lois Newsom, 78, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Guilderland Center Nursing Home.
Mary was the daughter of the late Monroe Mitchell and Corell Mitchell.
She worked with New York State Tax and Finance Department.
Mary was a member of the Mt. Olivet Missionary Baptist Church for many years.
In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her husband, George L. Newsom, her sister Lucille Singleton and her brother Roosevelt Mitchell.
Mary is survived by her children, Larry (Penny) Nix, Lamar (Tina) Nix, Elston (Tasha) Newsom and Debra Newsom. She is also survived by her brother, Joseph Mitchell and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and close family and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 29, 2016 at 12:00 pm at Mt. Olivet Missionary Baptist Church, 1068 Park Ave., Schenectady, NY 12308. Calling hours will precede the service from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the church.
Interment will follow the service at Park View Cemetery, Schenectady, NY.
