Mary Lou Tuck (Smith), 89, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2024.

Mary Lou was born March 8, 1935 in Albany, the daughter of the late Walter and Margaret Smith.

She was employed with the Office of Mental Health until her retirement. Mary Lou enjoyed playing cards, attending church, and above all, spending time with her family, with a candy dish over-flowing.

Mary Lou was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Raymond M. Tuck; daughters, Christine Hilton and Mary Ellen Cozzy; siblings, Ann Conklin, Walter Smith, Margaret Teta, Rita Smith, Robert Smith and George Smith.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Michael Tuck, Patricia Halterman (Herb), Donna McMillen; grandchildren, Edward James, Melanie James, Michael Gilligan, Jessica Albano, Marilee Hettie, Valerie Meisner; 7 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Virginia Doherty and Carol Smith; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A calling hour will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Church of the Redeemer, 1249 3rd St, Rensselaer. Mass to follow the calling hour at 11 a.m. Burial to be held privately.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Community Hospice, and her family friend and caretaker, Frances Steele.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mary Lou's name to the Community Hospice or the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society.
