Mary Lourinia

COLONIE – Mary Lourinia, 91, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2005 at the Albany County Nursing Home.
Mary was born on November 26, 1914 in Bari, Italy and was the daughter of the late Vito and Elizabeth Mastromarino Nuzzi. She moved to Providence, RI at the age of 11 and resided in the Capital District for over 60 years.
Mary worked as a cashier at the Strand Theatre in Albany and at Key Bank in Albany as a clerk for special deposits before retiring in 1980. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of the HB Kuhn Senior Citizens Center, Colonie Village Ladies Auxiliary, Fuller Road Ladies Auxiliary and the Albany County Ladies Auxiliary.
Mary is the mother of Elizabeth (Ron) Richards and Louis (Judy) Lourinia; sister of Ralph Nuzzi, Margaret Lourinia, Jessie Nuzzi and Rita (Lawrence) Maskell; grandmother of George (Jean) Allen, Patricia (John) Allen, Lawrence (Shirley) Allen, Stefanie Allen, Stashia L. Martin, Johnna L. Martin and Kevin (Jessica) Lourinia; great grandmother of Mike, Patrick, Zachary, Tim, Matt, Izabella, Clint, Kenny, Chad and Kage; great great grandmother of Mia Collette. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, George Lourinia, her daughter, Iona Allen and her brothers, Tony and Nicholas Nuzzi.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday morning at 8 a.m. at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home 343 New Karner Road, Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) then to Blessed Sacrament Church, Albany, at 9 a.m. where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Glenmont. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Albany County Ladies Auxiliary Volunteer Fire Association Scholarship Fund, 31 Herber Ave., Delmar, NY 12054 in memory of Mary Lourinia.
