Mary M. Doran

NISKAYUNA – Mary M. Doran, 81, passed away on Friday, January 21, 2011. Born in Cliffeside, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Rocco DeMercurio and Margaret and Joseph Gambino. Mary resided in Glenmont for many years before moving to Niskayuna. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward C. Doran, Sr. Mary is the devoted mother of William B. (Martine) Stapleton, Jr., Paul (Debra) Doran and Edward C. (Dorris) Doran, Jr. She is the loving sister of Savario (the late Eileen) DeMercurio and the late Vincent DeMercurio and Margaret Rowe. Mary is the cherished grandmother of Jeffrey (Kathleen) Doran, Joseph M. Stapleton, John H. Stapleton and Denise D. Doran and great-grandmother of Tyler and Brianna. Also surviving is her sister-in-law, Mary DeMercurio and Mary's dear friends, Lois Smith and Agnes Villani as well as several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Delmar. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (RT. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont. Mary was an avid animal lover. Memorial contributions in her name would be appreciated to the Estherville Animal Shelter, 100 Russell Rd., Greenville Center, NY 12833.
