Mary L. (Van Ness) Mayette, 72, of Malta, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer, always maintaining her optimism. Her loving family was by her side.
Mary was the daughter of the late Raymond K., Sr. and Lillian B. (Potter) Van Ness.
Mary was employed at Raymour and Flanagan for 20 years.
Her greatest loves were her family, gardening, baking, and music.
She was the beloved wife of A. Raymond Mayette, the loving mother of: Deanne (Bob) Ditton, Darryl (Brenda) Mayette, Todd (Heidi) Mayette and Chad Mayette. Cherished sister of: Raymond K. (June) Van Ness, Richard J. (Mary) Van Ness, Betty A. (Roger Moguin) Scriven. Mary is also survived by her Brother-in-law: David (SueAnne) Mayette of Middlesex, VT, seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 11 a.m. from New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Interment will follow the service at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. Calling hours will precede the service from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org
