Mary R Morin, 87 wife of the late John Morin, passed away Thursday April 13th 2023 at Albany Medical Hospital with her son Mark by her side.
Mary was born May 2nd 1935 in Albany NY. She was the daughter of Antonio and Caroline DiDominico(Caputo). Mary grew up in a large and loving family in Cohoes, NY. She had an extremely tight, unbreakable bond with her mother, brothers and sisters. Mary graduated from Catholic high school. After finishing high school, Mary went on to work in a dentist office before going to work at Verizon where she stayed and worked her way up from a night cleaner to data entry at payroll until she retired. Mary loved being a grandma. When she retired she started watching her grandkids before and after school. She loved her Cheesecake Factory dates with her granddaughter Kayleigh for her tiramisu, spending time with her grandson Justin and his family and visiting her grandsons Matt and family and Shawn down in South Carolina.
Mary was the happiest when she was surrounded by family and friends. She enjoyed going to camp with those family and friends and traveling to Myrtle Beach with her husband John. She loved when people came to visit and you never left hungry. No matter who she met, she would always offer, "Can I get you something to eat, something to drink?" Hosting and having holiday gatherings were Mary's favorite. She enjoyed her sweets, coffee and of course her wine. Mary had a strong faith and even when she couldn't go to church in person she watched mass every Sunday at home. Mary was a very strong willed woman and she knew what she wanted in life. Her passing is a tremendous loss to the family.
She is survived by her sister Rose DiBenedetto; sons Mark and Sharon (Murphy) Morin and Brian and Michelle (Gainor) Morin; 4 grandchildren, Kayleigh Morin, Justin and Allison Morin (LaGalles), Matthew and Jennifer Morin (Du Pont) and Shawn Morin; step grandchildren Jason and Elizabeth Gainor; 3 great grandchildren, Levi, Oliver and Lincoln Morin and 2 more great grandchildren to be born in June and August of 2023. She is also a beloved aunt to many neices and nephews.
