Mary M. Onderdonk

Mary M. Onderdonk, 77, wife of Truman L. Onderdonk of Albany, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2023. Born in Albany, NY, she was the first daughter of Harry C. and Mary M. Lockwood.

Mrs. Onderdonk proudly graduated from Columbia High School in 1964. It was a time that she greatly cherished, and from which she began many life-long friendships. Mary worked for both New York State, and for A&P before becoming a data entry operator with what would ultimately become Bank of America until her retirement.

Mary could often be found happily spending her days snuggling "her" babies, enjoying the daily news and sudoku games with her beloved husband, or phoning a friend to check in or give a friendly hello.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 38 years, Truman Onderdonk, her children Deborah (Walter) Bogdonowicz, Frank (Monica) Finn, Christina (Steven) Stipe, Kim (David) Farrar, and Peter Onderdonk. She is also survived by her brother Robert (Christine) Lockwood, as well as her eight grandchildren, Bayly and Nicholas Bogdonowicz, Baggio Finn, Spencer, Nora, and Mallory Stipe, Benjamin and Julianne Farrar, and her three nieces, Kelli Blatt, Melina Breig, and Jessica Lockwood.

In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her sister, Susan Gadus, and her brother, David Lockwood.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 11, 2022 from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm, with a Celebration of Life Service to begin at 6:00pm, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie NY, 12205.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made in Mary's name to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
