SCHENECTADY- On May 8, 2023 Mary passed away from a long battle with cancer.
She was born in Schenectady, NY on November 14, 1949, where she lived for over 40 years before moving to Florida. While living in Florida, she found her one true love Jim Hendricks. Mary and Jim lived in Florida for the next 25 years until his passing in 2016, at the time she decided to move back home to NY to be with her family. While living in Florida, Mary was a caregiver for the elderly, where she would brighten their days by taking them out shopping and to lunch and having wonderful conversations, playing cards while keeping them company.
She enjoyed going to craft fairs, concerts and the movies.
She is survived by her sisters: Barbara Horton (Gary), Josie Welch, Patty Osborne (John) and Yvonne Baldwin (Don); nieces and nephews: Adam Welch, Isabella and Zachary Baldwin and Teresa, Gaven and Reece Osborne and several cousins and her beloved kitty Archie.
She is predeceased by her mother Mary Wood, her father Henry Wood and her nephew Brennen Osborne.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her calling hours at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205 on Tuesday May 16, 2023 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. All are invited to attend her funeral services following at 5:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mary's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Animal Protective Foundation would be appreciated.
