Mary R. Burnetter

December 9, 1932 — March 18, 2015

Mary R. "Gram" Burnetter, 82, passed into the arms of the Lord and her boys on March 18, 2015 at the Community Hospice Inn at St. Peters, after an 18 month battle with lung cancer.

Mary was born December 9, 1932, in Albany, New York, the daughter of the late Joseph and Kate (Winnie) Koonz.

Mary was a perfect example of hard work, perseverance and strength for all of her family.

She endured the tragic murder of her youngest son and the cancer struggle and ultimate passing of her oldest son, but her faith never wavered. Gram continued to be the absolute courage and strength for her grandchildren.

Mary retired from NYS OGS and Price Chopper bakery. She returned to the work force not really liking retirement and being idle and worked until her medical condition forced her to leave. She was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church and a lifetime member of the Polish Community Center.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sons, Thomas A. Jr., and Steven Burnetter and her nephew, David Winnie.

Mary leaves behind to mourn her loss, her sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Couser, her grandchildren, Jami Thomas (Celeste), Nicole (Pete) and Joseph and her daughter-in-law, Mary C. Burnetter. Mary was also the proud great Gram to 3 great grand sons, a new baby boy to arrive in May and her "little girl" Shealynn Rose. She is also survived by her nieces, Kathy, Fran "Peanut" (Thomas) and Teresa "Tee" and nephews, Jerry and Art.

Her grandchildren were the absolute loves of her life and she would move heaven and earth to get to them anything they needed. Most of all she was a shining example of courage and strength that they will carry thru in life.
