COLONIE – Mary R. Carnicelli, 87, passed away on Friday, September 9, 2011, at Albany Medical Center Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Mary was born on April 28, 1924 in Albany and was the daughter of the late Rocco and Augusta (Barteloni) Tenenini. She was the parish secretary at Our Lady of Angels Church for over 26 years before retiring in the early 1990's; prior to that she had worked at the Watervliet Arsenal, Kapps Restaurant, and Woolworth's. She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling. Mary was an active member and former president of the Hart Social Club at the Beltrone Living Center and an active member of other senior clubs.
Mary is survived by her loving children, Anthony E. (Noreen) Carnicelli and Cheryl A. (Tom) Hildenbrandt; her cherished grandchildren, Kayla and Justin Hildenbrandt; her sister-in-law, Rose Tenenini; several special nieces and nephews and special family friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 48 years, Anthony J. Carnicelli; her son, John A. Carnicelli, her sisters, Anna Prinzo, and Clara Canali; and her brothers, Nick, Michael, Edward, and Louis Tenenini.
Funeral services will be held at 8:15 a.m. Monday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, then to Christ Our Light Catholic Church, 1 Maria Drive, Loudonville, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Colonie. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
