Mary Elizabeth Roney

ALBANY - Roney, Mary Elizabeth of Guilderland - Mary E. (Mary Beth) Roney, 70, died suddenly at home on August 29, 2024, She was the cherished daughter of the late Winifred and Edward Roney. Beth graduated from the College of St. Rose, and worked many years at the NYS Dept. of Labor, retiring as an unemployment specialist.
Beth was a kind, culturally adventurous, and loving person of rare curiosity sharp intellect, and wide-ranging taste. She was devoted to her family. She could talk with anyone about anything. She enjoyed grand opera, spicy food, film noir, The Simpsons, exotic cocktails, vampire lore, the NY Mets, Norse sagas, fun hairdos, The X-Files, and hedgehogs. In politics, she was a proud Progressive. Beth was one of a kind.
Beth is survived by several cousins. Her many faithful friends hold her memory dear. Honoring her wishes, there will be no services, with private interment next to her parents in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
