ALBANY- Mary Samal Lindsay, 86, formerly of Albany, passed away on Sunday September 28, 2008 at St. Peters Hospital after a long illness.
She was born in Albany and was the daughter of the late Wasile (Phil) and Anna Budnowski Samal. Mary was a Sergeant with the US Army during WWII. She worked with the US Post Office and as Deputy Clerk at the Albany County Clerk's Office for many years, retiring in 1982. Mary enjoyed art and gardening. She was a member of American Legion Post 1465 in Voorheesville.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen A. Wise (Bill) of Voorheesville. Mary is the sister of Jean Conway (Ed) of Lake George and the late Michael Samal, Vera Foley, and Olga Breiner. She is the cherished grandmother of Lisa Wise and Jill Duffy. Great grandmother of Jessica and Bryan Wise. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services were private. Interment was held at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
