CLIFTON PARK - Mary G. Speth, 86, passed away on Friday, June 22, 2018 at the Saratoga Center for Rehab & Skilled Nursing Care in Ballston Spa.
Mary was born on July 25, 1931 in Thetford, VT and was the daughter of the late Robert and Mary Grace (Wise) Cook. She was an LPN at Samaritan Hospital for over 20 years, before retiring. She enjoyed traveling, especially with her good friend, Barbara Gregg, where they took a cruise to Alaska and drove to many destinations, as well as traveling with her daughter, Marylou and her family. She also enjoyed gardening where she pruned many gardens. She loved her pets and birds, and enjoyed reading Birds & Blooms and walking with her pets. She also loved Bible Study with her friends.
Mary is survived by her loving children, James H. (Elaine) Speth, Marylou (Joseph) Girard, Richard D. Speth and Wendy (Jim Roder) Zipkin; her cherished grandchildren, James Speth II, Hannah (Tim Bishop) Girard, Joseph Girard, Jr., Nicolle Zipkin, Heather Zipkin and Michael Zipkin; her adored great grandchildren, Avalee Speth, James Speth III and Audrey Girard, and one on the way, little Theodore Bishop; her siblings, Shirley (John) Hoyt and Fred (Shirley) Cook, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mary is predeceased by her husband, Henry E. Speth and siblings, Robert Cook and Frank Cook.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, at New Comer Cremation & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet. Inurnment, Elmwood Cemetery in West Sand Lake at the convenience of the family.
