SLINGERLANDS- Mary T. Mathis of Slingerlands passed away peacefully on Monday May 19, 2008 at Albany Medical center Hospital.
She was born in Staunton, VA and attended Booker T. Washington High School. Mary graduated from Albany High School and resided in Albany for most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Jerome Hoffman and Gracie Thompson.
Mary was a Supervisor at Whitney M. Young Community Health Center in Albany for many years. She enjoyed traveling, reading, spending time with her devoted friends and watching 7th Heaven and Who's Coming to Dinner.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 37 years, Lee M. Mathis Jr.; her brother Jerome Thompson of Virginia, her cousins Gwen, Theresa and Raymond Bryant of Long Island and her nephew Jerome Thompson. She is the beloved niece of the late Raymond and Bertie Huggard of Virginia. She is the daughter in law of Lee M> Mathis Sr. of St. Louis, MO and the late Vernice Ethel Mathis. She is the sister in law of Lois Arrindel of Albany, Dennis Mathis of Houston, TX, Dorothy (Clint) Landy and family of Albany, Quinton Mathis and family of San Francisco, Vernita Mathis and family of Houston, TX, Lonita Mathis and family of Syracuse, Lowanda Ward and family of St. Louis, MO and the late Debra Mathis.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend services in Celebration of Mary's life on Saturday at 12 noon at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd.
