Mary T. Mayer

COLONIE – Mary Theresa (Heinze) Mayer, died March 7, 2009, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 16, 1930 and was the daughter of the late Edward J. and Helen M. (Fitzgerald) Heinze. Mary was a member of the NYS Retired Teachers' Association, the Eastern Zone of NYS Retired Teachers' Association, Harris Bay Yacht Club, the Village of Colonie H.B. Kuhn Senior Citizen Center and Prime-Timers Club of Calvary Methodist Church. She was also a communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Church. Mary enjoyed travel, reading, music, dancing and family activities. She never wavered in the unconditional love and devotion she showed to her family and friends. Mary was much loved and will be greatly missed. Mary is the loving wife of 54 years to Frank C. Mayer. She is the proud mother of Frank C. Mayer, Jr. and his wife, Chingyen Y. Mayer and Karen M. Altman and her husband, Frederick M. Altman. She is the devoted grandmother of Stephen Altman, Eric Altman, Gregory Altman, David Altman and Emily Mayer. Mary is the sister of Carol Motta and her husband, Robert. Also surviving are two nieces and one nephew.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Monday evening from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Funeral services will be Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Colonie. Memorial contributions may be made to Capital City Rescue Mission, 259 South Pearl Street, Albany, NY 12202 in memory of Mary T. Mayer.
