Albany- Our beloved sister and aunt. Mary Teresi, age 88, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 12, 2017 after a long illness. Mary was born in Albany, New York to Maria Cira and Joseph Teresi.
She was an Albany High School graduate with the Class of 1947 and was a veteran having served as a WAC in the United States Army. Mary was a Legionnaire and a member of Joseph E. Zaloga Post 1520.
Mary had a successful career as a Medical Secretary in the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Dept. of Albany Medical Center for 30 years. She attended Christ Our Light Catholic Church. Mary loved her family, was an avid reader, enjoyed leather working, bowling and loved her dogs. She also liked to watch golf and tennis.
Mary is survived by her sister, Sr. Miriam Joseph Teresi, O.S.F., nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.
The family sincerely appreciates and thanks the staff at the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center for their wonderful care and kindness shown to Mary.
A prayer service will be held at 8:30 a.m., Saturday, February 18, 2017 at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, followed by a Catholic Mass of Christian burial at Christ Our Light Catholic Church, One Maria Drive, Loudonville at 9:30 a.m. Interment thereafter will be at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
