Schenectady – Mary Delores Valachovic, 92, passed away peacefully Tuesday February 9, 2010 at Glendale Nursing Home.
Mary was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama the daughter of the late Marguerite Pepin and John Carroll Meaney. She worked for the General Electric for 31 years, 29 of which was spent with the Maqua Printing Department. Mary was a communicant of St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church and enjoyed sewing and floral work. She was predeceased by her husband of thirty years Edward J. Valachovic and granddaughter Kimberly Valachovic both in 1969.
She is survived by her sons Edward C. Valachovic (Judy) of Schenectady and Robert L. Valachovic of Schenectady, sister Dorothy McKinley, three grandchildren: Yana (Jared) Gerstein, Carroll Lynn Valachovic and Edward (Susan) L. J. Valachovic, three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Friday 4:00 to 7:00 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, New Karner Rd., Colonie. A spring burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
