LATHAM - Maryann Brace, 73, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at St. Peter's Hospital.
Maryann was born on June 11, 1947 in Albany, daughter of the late Jesse and Mary Brace. She was educated in the Albany School System. She worked for 30 years in the Federal Government agencies, retiring from Albany Military Entrance Processing Stations as Lead Human Resource Assistant (Military) on November 30, 2007.
Maryann loved to dance and listen to music, also enjoyed traveling to France, Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls, California, Pittsburgh, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, New Orleans, Virginia and cruising to the Caribbean. She was also a member of Lela's Tap Group for eight years in Gloucester, Virginia.
Maryann leaves behind two sisters, Joyce Collins of Cypress, Cali. and June Jones of Coral Springs, Fla.; her niece and Goddaughter, Wanette Alston; her Goddaughter, Connie Bing; an abundance of adopted children whom she loved dearly; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her sisters, Laura (Brace) Edwards, Jean (Brace) Wilson and her brother, Jesse "Sonny" Brace Jr.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 2, at 11:00 a.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet. A calling hour will precede the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Gathering size within our chapels will be based on the most current N.Y.S. occupancy requirements. Masks are required and social distancing is to be observed inside and outside of our chapels. Interment in Memory Gardens, Colonie.
