Matilda Olszewski (Palma)

ALBANY - Matilda Olszewski, 93, passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at Evergreen Commons in East Greenbush.
Matilda was born on May 6, 1916 in Albany and was the daughter of the late Louis and Virginia (Guidigiana) Rovelli. She retired from Food Service at Motor Vehicles in Albany after 20 years of service. Her first and foremost love was her family. She enjoyed cooking, music, and dancing and had a great sense of humor.
Matilda is survived by her loving children, John Palma, Kenneth Palma (Jo Ann), Judith Wells (Dave), Virginia Calhoun, and Lois Liporace (Will); her loving grandchildren, John Palma, Morgan Axensen, Anthony and Kristi Palma, Colleen Kibler, Doreen Latham, Gene, John, and Dina Tasso, Nick Liporace, and 17 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Anthony Rovelli and James Rovelli (Angie) and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley Olszewski; her brothers, Jerome and Joseph Rovelli; her sister, Phyllis Campione and her son-in-law, George Calhoun.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Evergreen Commons for the loving care they gave to Matilda, especially to Kathy, Bill and Fran.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Friday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) then to St. Clare's Church in Colonie where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Colonie. Calling hours will be held (today) Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
