Washington D.C. - Matthew Finn, 33, passed away unexpectedly Monday April 28, 2008.
Matt was born in Albany, the son of James and JoAnn (Hart) Finn. He is a graduate of Albany Academy, St. Lawrence University and earned his M B A from American University in Washington DC. Matt had worked for Goldman Sachs and most recently was working for the McLean Group LLC as a Senior Analyst.
Matt was a world traveler, having visited such places as Poland, Russia, Denmark and throughout the United States. He was also an avid sports fan, whether watching or participating in it. Matt had played football at Albany Academy and liked his intramural hockey days at St. Lawrence. As a younger man, Matt was a communicant of Christ the King Church. Matt was a survivor of Hodgkin's Disease and recently had been counseling other cancer patients on how to cope with it in their lives.
Besides his mother and father, Matt is survived by his brother Christopher J. Finn, his sister Jessica M. Finn, his grandmother Rosemary Hart, his aunts and uncles; Patrick (Kathleen) Hart, William J. (Marilyn) Finn, John (Judy) Finn and Barbara Murphy and many cousins. He is also survived by his loving companion, Kate Winton. Matt was predeceased by his grandparents William and Margaret Finn and Patrick Hart.
Funeral services will be held Monday 9:15am from New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155 south of Central Ave.) then to Christ the King Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am. Calling hours will be Sunday 2:00 to6:00pm at the funeral home. The parish family of Christ the King will gather at 3:00pm at the funeral home for a service of Prayer and Remembrance.
