Matthew Charles Hoeffner, 28, of Colonie, NY, passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 5, 2024.

Matt was born in Albany to Pamela and Douglas Hoeffner. He graduated from Colonie Central High School in 2013 before attending Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and earning his Doctor of Pharmacy in 2019. After working 2 years in Ogdensburg, NY, as the pharmacist for Walgreens, Matt returned to his hometown in 2022 to work for LI Scripts in Schenectady, NY.

Matt was known for his easy-going nature and witty sense of humor. Known as the "cool" uncle by his niece, Lydia, they enjoyed many kayak trips paddling the streams at Fish Creek Pond and spending time together playing Minecraft.

Everyone who knew Matt, knew how much he loved the outdoors. He always looked forward to the times he could spend camping, kayaking, biking, hiking and skiing. His trips to Colorado, with his many friends, were always a highlight for him.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his parents, Pamela and Douglas Hoeffner, his sister Diane Hoeffner (Tony Schenkman), his adoring nieces, Lydia Longton and Charlotte Schenkman, and loving nephew Anthony Schenkman. He is also survived by his loving grandmother, Muriel Herron and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

We couldn't have asked for a better son, brother and uncle, and we will miss Matt every day. His memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him.

A visitation will be held Sunday January 14th from 2pm-4pm, with a Memorial service immediately following at 4pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie.
