Matthew J. Kosakowski Sr.

Rome- Matthew J. Kosakowski Sr. 62, of Rome, NY passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, in Crouse Hospital in Syracuse, NY. He was the son of the late Leo and Hannah Hofmann Kosakowski. Matthew was born in Perth Amboy, NJ, and spent most of his life in Woodbridge, NJ before moving to Rome NY several years ago. He had a long career as a highly skilled licensed Plumber in NJ. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge of his many construction talents and he generously gave of his time to help others. 

He was the proud father of his five surviving children, Melissa Kosakowski, and (Kristina Iacovino), of Freehold, NJ, Matthew Kosakowski Jr. of Matawan, NJ, Michael and (Lauren Uckar Kosakowski) of Cranford, NJ, Sarah and (Christopher Early) of Clark, NJ and Steven Kosakowski of Jersey City, NJ. He is survived by 5 grandchildren, Luciana, Sebastian, Lincoln, Madelyn, and Violet. 

He is also survived by his sisters, Helena Bronson of NY, Kathy & (John Steenbergen) of WA, Barbara Osinski of NY, his brothers, Leo, of Belize, Mark, of IN, Richard and (Patti) of NY and Luke of VA. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins and close friends. 

In addition to his parents, Leo and Hannah Hofmann Kosakowski, he is also predeceased by his baby granddaughter Mackenzie Kosakowski.
