Maureen P. Collins

Maureen P. Collins, 61, of Watervliet, NY passed away on Saturday, November 16 at home.

Maureen was born in the Bronx, NY on March 16, 1963, the daughter of the late John J. Collins and Mary Culver Collins. She was the youngest of their ten children.

Maureen was a 1981 graduate of Monsignor Scanlan High School, Bronx, NY. She was a dedicated employee of the Department of Justice, Northern District of New York, United States Attorney Office for almost 30 years. She loved the people she worked with and counted many of them as her dearest friends.

She is survived by her siblings: Michael Collins and his wife Pam of Michigan, Thomas Collins and his wife Margaret of New Jersey, Jeanne Schuck and her husband Donald of New York, Deborah Gallagher of Massachusetts and Aileen Farago and her husband Stephen of New York. She had been survived by her sister Deirdre Collins of Albany who recently passed. They are together. Her brother-in-law Michael Ingram of Texas. She is also survived by her many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly as if they were her own.

She was predeceased by her parents John J. Collins and Mary Culver Collins. Also, by her sisters Joan Ingram, Mary Schuck Donovan and brother John Collins; her brothers-in-law John Schuck and Ted Gallagher.

Our sister Maureen was the most loving, funny and special person. We will miss her ever so much.

There will be a memorial service on Saturday, December 14, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:15 AM, followed by a time of sharing New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy-Schenectady Road, Watervliet, NY 12189.
