Maureen Gaidusek-Hughes

May 3, 1939 — January 11, 2021

Maureen Gaidusek – Hughes, 81, of Albany NY passed away peacefully at home Monday, January 11, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.

Maureen came to America from England in 1959 and raised her Family and created her American dream. She retired from the NY State Construction Fund many years ago and since has been a source of love, laughter, support, inspiration to her family and oh so many dear friends. Maureen was never too busy to help someone in need. Fun was not a problem in Maureen's orbit and she shared that gift with so many people as well as much needed comfort and support in times of sorrow and need. A true friend to so many people down thru the years. Her light, energy, friendship will be missed.

Maureen was predeceased by her beloved Son Raymond Gaidusek and her husband Willie Hughes.

She is survived by her Daughter Kathy Niesen and Paul VanWely of Albany, Son Ron Gaidusek and Linda of Charleston SC, 7 beloved Grandchildren – Corie and Michael Gaidusek, Megan and Michael Niesen, Amanda, Chris and Nick Gaidusek and 3 Great Grand Children and several nieces and nephews in England. Maureen is also survived by her Brother Frank Dennis (Sue) and Brother Jim Dennis of England and many, many great friends. MaryJo, Marilyn, Kathy and Arno, Margaret and so many other dear people.

At Maureen's request a Memorial Celebration and Celebration of Life will be planned at a future date for Family and her Dear Friends due to the current impact of COVID.

In Maureen's memory, donations are requested to The Community Hospice of Albany. This team of extraordinary people truly are Angels among us.
